"Paved roads are yet another example of needless government spending."

Mission statement

Gold Country Crawlers are dedicated to building a welcoming, family-friendly off-road community that unites enthusiasts across Central California, Northern California, the Bay Area, and Nevada.

Our mission is to foster strong lasting relationships among members by creating opportunities to connect, support one another, and grow together both on and off the trail.

We are committed to developing skills at every level; encouraging safe, responsible off-roading; and promoting teamwork and community engagement beyond the trail.

Through exclusive events, education, and outreach, we aim to expand our presence and positively represent Cal4Wheel and the off-road community while sharing a passion for adventure and the outdoors.

I’m Marc Dilbeck, founder and current president of Gold Country Crawlers. I’ve been part of the off-road community for more than 25 years, both recreationally and professionally. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to wheel and build just about everything from buggies and Jeeps to Toyota 4x4s. I’m a lifelong member of Cal4Wheel and believe strongly in doing my part to protect and preserve access to our public lands so future generations can continue to enjoy them. For me, off-roading has always been about more than just the vehicles—it’s about the adventure, the friendships, the challenges, and getting out there and exploring. Born and raised in Northern California, I’m fortunate to call the Sierra Nevada my backyard. There’s nothing I enjoy more than getting out on the trail, exploring new places, and sharing those experiences with fellow wheelers. Gold Country Crawlers was built around that same passion: explore, enjoy, and help preserve the trails we love.

Hi! I’m Kayla! I’ve been a passenger princess on the trail for the last 14 years, so I figured it was finally time to get a Jeep of my own.  I now have a ’99 Jeep Cherokee XJ that still needs a few things, but I’m excited to finally get behind the wheel and start learning the trails myself.

I’ve been part of other off-road clubs with my husband, Marc, and have always loved the people, the adventures, and everything that comes with getting out there. My favorite place to be is in the trees, around the water, and anywhere that gets me off the beaten path. I love being outdoors, exploring new places, and meeting people who enjoy the same things.

That’s a big part of why Marc and I decided to start Gold Country Crawlers. We wanted to meet more awesome, like-minded people, get more people involved, and build a club where everyone can come out, have a good time, and enjoy the trails together, no matter the experience level.

I’m excited to be part of what we’re building and to spend more time on the trails with all of you.

As Club Secretary, I help keep the Gold Country Crawlers running smoothly behind the scenes. While our club is packed with seasoned rock crawlers, I represent the cautious side of the trail. I'm relatively new to off-roading and prefer taking stock rigs low and slow, proving you don't need a massive lift kit to enjoy the outdoors safely. Some of my favorite local runs include Corral Hollow, Round Valley, and Sourgrass in the Stanislaus National Forest, along with exploring the vast high desert trails of Nevada. When I’m not carefully picking a line on the trail, I work professionally in cybersecurity. I’m also a huge ham radio nerd who loves teaching trail communications, advocating for radio safety, and helping members get licensed and connected. Whether you drive a fully built Jeep, a stock rig, or anything in between, I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting or out on the dirt!
