Membership
Membership is open to individuals or families who support the purposes of the club and participate in the club in a safe, respectful, and responsible manner. Prospective members may be admitted after attending at least 2 club meetings or organized events and receiving approval by a majority vote of members present. The club offers both family memberships and individual memberships. Each membership unit shall have one vote. Dues of $35 are due upon joining the club, and renew in January every year thereafter for as long as the member wishes to remain a member.

Gold Country Crawlers club Bylaws
Article I - Name
The name of this organization shall be Gold Country Crawlers.
article II - Purposes and aims
Gold Country Crawlers is a non-profit, family-oriented off-road club organized to promote responsible four-wheeling, camping, trail recreation, stewardship of public lands, and fellowship among members. The club shall encourage safe and courteous driving, respect for private and public lands, and participation in conservation, education, and community service activities related to off-road recreation. The club shall support the California Four Wheel Drive Association, Inc. and, if affiliated, abide by applicable Cal4Wheel bylaws, rules, and procedures.
Article III - Membership and dues
1. Membership is open to individuals or families who support the purposes of the club and participate in the club in a safe, respectful, and responsible manner.

5. The minimum age to vote or hold office shall be eighteen (18) years. Any member who drives on club activities must hold a valid driver’s license and maintain legally required insurance.
6. Any vehicle used on club runs must meet applicable law and the club’s safety requirements. Seat belts are required for all occupants, and open or soft-top vehicles must have appropriate rollover protection as required by club safety rules.
7. A member is in good standing when dues are current and the member acts in a manner consistent with these bylaws, club safety rules, and trip rules.
8. All members and guests must conduct themselves in a responsible, respectable, and orderly fashion at club functions, on the trail, online, and in interactions representing the club.
9. All members must maintain an active Cal4Wheel membership.
10. The club may suspend or terminate a membership for nonpayment of dues, unsafe conduct, harassment, repeated rule violations, or conduct materially harmful to the club, after notice and an opportunity to be heard before the Board or membership as determined by club policy.

If the club uses checks, withdrawals or checks should require authorization under procedures approved by the Board or membership.
6. The club may also appoint or elect a Delegate to attend Cal4Wheel district meetings, report back to the membership, and represent the club as authorized.

1. Club runs, camping trips, and events shall be conducted in a manner consistent with club trip rules and safety requirements.
2. Members and guests shall follow the directions of the designated trip leader or Trail Boss during organized events.
3. The club shall promote the principles of Tread Lightly, pack-in/pack-out cleanup, compliance with land-use regulations, and respect for other trail users and nearby communities.
4. Alcohol or substance use that impairs safe vehicle operation is prohibited during any driving portion of a club activity.
5. Guests may attend events subject to any safety, waiver, or sponsorship requirements established by the Board.

Article IX - Parliamentary authority
Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised, shall govern procedural matters not covered by these bylaws or any special rules of order adopted by the club.
Article X - Amendments
These bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the voting members present at any regular meeting, provided the proposed amendment has been provided to the membership in advance with reasonable notice.
